Maintenance Policies

Regularly scheduled maintenance and motorcoach inspections are a trademark of Wilmac Tours, Inc.  In order to comply with the Motor Coach safety regulations we take serious maintaining our fleet for optimum safety.  Wilmac's policy is safety first and safety second, then when can go.


While our policies are strict preventive maintenance has kept  our fleet on the road for the past twenty-five years.  All employees responsible for maintaining our fleet are certified mechanics.  They are required to keep logs of all inspections and maintained those records for the life of the coach.  All aspects of the coach is carefully inspected to determine rather the vehicles are safe for short and long-distance travel. 

 
Regularly scheduled lube jobs, oil changes, filter replacements, wheel balancing, break inspections and complete engine care are provided in accordance with manufactures requirements.

Our maintenance and serivce procedures does not allow for shortcuts.  Our vehicles must be serviced correctly.  Wilmac enforces operator understanding of its policies through best pratices which enables us to reduce errors and equipment downtime.  Our technicians are capable of handling major repairs and minor repairs.  If a worker is unfamilar with any of our procedures and policies he will not be allowed to work on any equipment that he does not accurately understand.  In such cases we will call in a third-party service technician who is qualified to make such repairs as needed.
 
Wilmac buses are properly cleaned and sanitized before each trip.  The exterior is polished and maintained by Constant Impressions which provides our fleet with a "mirror like finish" for optimum beauty.  

 

Fleet Inspection

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has develop more effective and efficient methods to reduce commercial motor vehicle crashes, fatalities, and injuries.  FMCSA has established rules and guidelines for fleet inspections for the purpose of curing safety defects.  Violations of the safety requirements can result in stiff penalties and fines.
 
 
 
The FMCSA rule making procedures inspection requirements in full scope covers areas, such as, Parts and accessories for safe operations, transmission shift position sequence, starter interlock, and transmission braking effect, windshield defrosting and defogging systems, hydraulic and electrical brake systems, brake hoses, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment, tire selection and rims, rearview mirrors, hood latch system, theft protection and rollaway prevention, break fluids, accelerator control sysytem, warning devices, electronic stability, tire pressure monitoring, head restraints, steering control, seating system, occupant crash protection, seat belt assembly, roof crush resistence, fuel system integrity and a host of other fleet resuirements.  All such requirements for vehicle safety must be met.
